Volunteer Recruitment Coffee Morning at Brooklands Museum
Thursday 2nd April 2020 10.00am to 12 noon
Free entrance to one of Surrey’s principle visitor attractions and a free coffee, there must be a catch?! No catch, rather just an invitation to come along to Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, Surrey and discover how you could become a part of our award winning* volunteer programme and support the work of an amazing museum.
Brooklands is the Birthplace of British motor sport and aviation, and home of Concorde and comprises an unparalleled collection of Vickers and Hawker aircraft, historic racing cars and motorcycles all displayed in and around the historic buildings on the famous site where many were originally built or maintained.
This historic museum depends upon the dedication of a vibrant team of volunteers who each go out of their way to make visitors welcome, preserve the exhibits, develop their knowledge and generally be part of an amazing community who ensure that the museum is a great place to visit.
Whatever your skills and experience or the amount of time you can commit, you will be welcome at Brooklands Museum.
By joining the volunteer programme, individuals make a real difference to the Museum; by sharing skills and experience, the volunteers help to preserve and interpret the heritage of Brooklands to hundreds of visitors that come through the gates each week. Brooklands is open every day from 10am and has a variety of Special Interest Days which attract large numbers of attendees. The museum offers guided tours to schools which help develop their interest in STEM subjects.
Frank Thaxton, a new volunteer Steward said, “I’ve really enjoyed my first year at Brooklands as a volunteer! Everyone has been great – and it is such a friendly place. All my visitors love it!”
The Volunteer Recruitment Coffee Morning is the perfect opportunity to meet staff and current volunteers and learn more about the roles available. With the variety of opportunities on offer, you are sure to find something to match your requirements and availability. Entrance to the Museum to prospective volunteers is free and tours of the museum will be available.
