Surrey County Council’s Scam Awareness sessions aim to raise awareness of scams targeting organisations; to help businesses and charities prevent themselves becoming the victims of such scams, and would be suitable for anyone within an organisation that has the authority to make financial decisions or have access to private business information.
The first session is on 24th November at 10:30 and should take just over an hour, depending on how many questions are raised.
The sessions will highlight Government grant and tax rebate scams, CEO fraud, invoice/mandate fraud and tech support scams as well as providing more general practical steps for reducing risks from scams. This is a very difficult time for many charities but, sadly, that is one of the key reasons that they are currently more susceptible to scams.
Those interested in attending on 24th November should email Natalie at firstname.lastname@example.org to book a place.
Organisations can also contact Natalie to pre-book for the next Business Against Scams live online session on 26th January 2021.
