Project Support Assistant – Community Angels

Project Support Assistant (part-time, 15 hrs)

About the Project
Community Angels is a volunteer befriending project for vulnerable adults in Guildford. Our vision is a community where nobody should feel lonely or isolated, where the strength of relationships means that everyone feels they are valued, supported and that they belong. This is the newest project of Guildford Town Centre Chaplaincy (GTCC), a local charity founded in 2008 by churches in Guildford, which exists to demonstrate care and offer non-judgemental support to people in need in the town.

About the role
We are looking for an organised and experienced individual with a passion for making a difference in the community to join our small, friendly and supportive team at an exciting time in our project development. We are looking to recruit someone with excellent administrative skills including the ability to use IT packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel, and who is a good communicator, self-motivated as well as a team player.

Your particular focus will initially be on improving and helping to develop our existing data to track our work with our clients. There is scope to be involved in different areas of the project and to develop the role, in collaboration with a core team of volunteers and the Project Co-ordinator.

We currently have a team of over 30 volunteers, who are carefully matched to referrals from different agencies to befriend adults in challenging circumstances.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute significantly to a project which aims to address the growing problem of loneliness on a local level.
