Main Duties: To liaise with clients and potential clients to explain the Shopmobility service, dealing with telephone, email and face to face enquiries. To ensure that the needs of clients are met sympathetically and that a friendly and welcoming service is available at all times. Assist clients wherever needed, for example helping to put shopping into their car. To assist in ensuring that all equipment and the premises remain in a safe, clean and serviceable condition, and to deal with minor repairs and maintenance where necessary. Complete all paperwork to ensure compliant with policies and insurance. To provide the appropriate vehicle to users e.g. manual wheelchair, motorised wheelchair or scooter, together with operating instructions and training where required. On occasion, to meet clients with the equipment at an agreed location, for example the bus station, train station, taxi rank and escort clients back at the end of the rental period. To be aware of Health & Safety legislation and requirements. To maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the office, storeroom and toilet. To update and maintain the Shopmobility data base with client details and bookings and to assist with general office administration. To work in accordance with all Age UK Surrey and departmental policies and procedures ensuring service quality standards are met. To be proactive in making suggestions for improvements in working practice. To carry out any other duties as requested by management for the efficient running of the organisation.
