Luminus Insight CIC is an independent, not for profit organisation, which exists to empower people to have their voices heard in the design and delivery of public services; and to help organisations provide access and the best services possible through the inclusive involvement of local people.

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our growing team. The Operations Manager will be a key role, reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility for managing and coordinating office management, training & resource, policies & compliance, systems management and Board support.

Main duties include:

  • Ensuring that Luminus staff and office space has the resource needed to operate effectively.
  • Managing the administration functions with the organisation across the Luminus contracts.
  • Managing the delivery of our Information and Advice phone line and email service. • Providing support to the CEO and COO in the recruitment and induction of new employees. • Ensuring training needs of the staff team and Board are monitored and training arranged when needed. • Supporting the CEO and COO with service reviews and contractual negotiations. • Keeping all policies up to date and ensuring compliance with data protection legislation. • Managing the development and maintenance of databases, information systems and computer network. • Providing operational support to the Luminus CIC Board.

The work will be interesting and varied, and you will work across all our services to provide operational support (please see the Job description for more details).

You will need to have previous experience of working in an operations role; demonstrate strong organisation skills and attention to detail; be a good problem solver who can look for solutions/ideas for improving current process and procedure. You will be excellent at talking to people and building relationships both internally and externally with suppliers. You will need to be proactive, responsive and able to prioritise/manage your own workload.

We offer hybrid and flexible working; a fun, supportive, well-organised team in a Guildford office location combined with home working. The role is part time 22.5 hours (we are open to a flexible working pattern). The role may require some travel across Surrey to attend meetings or events, mainly on weekdays, but occasionally at weekends and in the evening. You will need to be able to organise transport to do this.
