The Surrey Wellbeing Partnership (SWP) is seeking a voluntary independent board adviser to act as Treasurer and chair of its Audit, Finance and Risk Committee, reporting to the Board.
As a joint venture we are seeking further independent advice to our Board to support that audit, finance and risk functions for the charity, to further strengthen its finance and risk management, governance and conflict of interest management. This will be the first role is its kind in this relatively new charity, contracted by the NHS and local authority jointly to deliver a comprehensive range of services for children, young people and families in Surrey. The charity’s Audit, Finance and Risk committee meets quarterly and reports to the Board. Working closely with the Chief Executive and Finance Manager this role will bring additional independence and scrutiny to the areas of finance and risk, supporting SWP to deliver its strategic aims of improving wellbeing for children and young people through its strengths-based partnership approach. This is a co-opted Board adviser role rather than an officer or Board elected Trustee Director, in line with our Articles of Association but intended to bring additional independent adviser roles to advise the joint venture Board. There may be scope in the future to amend the Articles. This would suit candidates with similar financial experience and knowledge and some experience of working with, advising Boards as well as an interesting in developing and strengthening the partnership model for delivery of health contracts through the voluntary sector.
