Can you improve the lives of older people in Mole Valley? If yes, we are looking for an experienced and committed individual who enjoys a varied working day and is enthusiastic about supporting older people to maintain their wellbeing and independence. The successful applicant will be the lead for our Befriending Service, which will include liaising with various referral agencies, client home visiting, risk assessments, and providing ongoing Information & Signposting in a supportive role. Working closely with colleagues you will assess referrals to the Befriending service and liaise with the Volunteer Coordinator who will go on to match the client with an appropriate volunteer.
The post holder will need good organisational, administrative and IT skills. You will need to be a good communicator, have excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to work well as part of a small team, but also be confident to work under your own initiative. Knowledge of the health and social care sector would be advantageous. You will need to demonstrate a reasonable level of academic qualifications or have equivalent experience.
