Independent Housing Opportunities Manager

Independent Housing Opportunities (Tandridge) – IHOT – are looking for a part-time Manager for the small (5 people) supported housing agency we operate on behalf of a large housing association.

The salary is £12,500 (part-time on the basis of 80 working days a year).

IHOT provides support to people with physical and learning disabilities (and mild mental health issues) with the aim of them moving to independent living in 2+ years.

The job is advertised on the basis of 80 days a year (but with up to an extra 20 days paid in the first year). It is open to people wanting to be employed by IHOT or act on a self-employed/consultancy basis. IHOT’s preference is for an employed basis.

The Manager will ensure IHOT:

  • provides the highest quality supported housing service and all necessary support to residents living at Diana Francis House (DFH) and any ‘outreach’ support as residents move on from DFH; and
  • complies with all necessary legal, regulatory and contractual requirements and good practice in delivering its services.

Key tasks:

  • Support and manage our 2 part-time Supported Housing Officers (SHOs);
  • Develop systems and procedures as necessary;
  • Monitor compliance with the above systems and procedures;
  • Provide cover during extended SHO absence(s);
  • Act as Safeguarding Officer and Data Protection Officer; and
  • Liaise with (and report to) IHOT’s Board and our landlord.

Support to clients:

  • Ensure clients’ support plans are agreed with our partners and monitor progress; and
  • Minimising risks to IHOT’s clients by actively monitoring compliance with our Safeguarding and other policies.

Finance:

  • Act as a signatory on IHOT’s bank account to authorise payments proposed/agreed by the Treasurer; and
  • Ensure all monies due from clients and partners is received.
