Most of our help is providing transport to and from medical appointments - be it to the GP, a local Hospital, Dentist, Optician, Podiatrist or Physiotherapist. In addition to our local hospitals, we do extend our services to include visits to St George’s in Tooting, St Peter’s in Chertsey and Royal Marsden in Sutton to name but a few. We are also happy to take a Client to visit their spouse or partner in a local nursing home.
As with all good neighbours, there are other tasks which are sometimes carried out, such as shopping from a list if the client is housebound or collecting prescriptions. Urgent light handyman/DIY jobs, which are often difficult for a client to tackle, can sometimes be dealt with by one of our skilled volunteers.
Volunteering for AGN is enjoyable, fulfilling and very rewarding. It is a flexible commitment with absolutely no pressure to accept any particular job unless it suits.
