Facilitating and Networking

We can support your forums, workshops and events by providing trained, experienced facilitators. Having an external facilitator can make group meetings and events easier, particularly when the subject matter can be controversial or where there is conflict. A facilitator can act as a trusted and neutral outside voice, keeping discussion focused and allowing the group to reach a consensus. Our facilitators will work with you in advance to understand the purpose and desired outcomes of your meeting, and then will support a group of people to help them have a discussion, come to agreement, or plan for the future..

Case study: Helping the VCFS to amplify their views on health and social care

Healthwatch Surrey asked Surrey Community Action to facilitate a series of listening events to encourage voluntary organisations and faith groups to feedback about their clients’ experiences of health and social care. Healthwatch Surrey were particularly keen to include smaller charities and voluntary groups who are under-represented. A series of four events have been planned across Surrey during 2016 with a celebration event taking place in July. Feedback from participants includes:

“Refreshing to know that service users’ views can be feedback to those who can actually influence services!”
