Charity Mash-Up 2024

Over 100 people from a wide range of Surrey’s charities and community groups attended this year’s Charity Mash-Up, sponsored by QlicIT.

The Charity Mash-Up is Surrey Community Action’s flagship event and brings together Chief Executives, Fundraising and Communications Managers, Operations Directors, Trustees, Volunteer Co-ordinators and others working or volunteering in Surrey’s voluntary sector.

This year’s theme was collaboration and the conference included a discussion on collaboration with Jonathan Lees from The Good Company, Michelle Blunsom MBE from ESDAS and Kerry Outlaw from ACRE Kent.

Our 40 minute taster sessions included:

Major donor fundraising: stronger together – Louise Morris, Summit Fundraising

An Introduction to Co-production – Nikki Roberts and Yasmin Broome, Surrey Coalition for Disabled People

“Reserves Policy? – Where’s the Budget!” – Brian Seaton, Small Charity Support

GDPR – Jason Gaskell, Surrey Community Action

Empowering Change: The Impact of Partnering with Student Volunteers for Charities – Phil Simcock and Louise McGarr, Royal Holloway University of London

Making a collaboration work in practice – Emma Ewing, Big Fish Training

The plenary session featured Debra Allcock Tyler, CEO of the Directory of Social Change who gave an entertaining and thought-provoking speech.

Our Marketplace featured a range of sector specialists and funders, enabling delegates to find information about services and products as well as an opportunity to speak to funders.

Surrey Community Action’s Chief Executive, Jason Gaskell said: “We’re delighted to welcome so many friends and colleagues from across Surrey to this year’s Mash-Up. We would like to thank all of our speakers, workshop leaders, Marketplace stallholders and our sponsors QlicIT for supporting our event once again.”
