| Do you have what it takes to
make a difference?
We are recruiting for people to join our Buddy Service.
You will be supporting young adults with a learning disability,
working on a one to one basis.
The main objectives of this role are to; promote life skills,
independence and social skills, and to assist young people
to access the local and wider community. Also to support
young people to take part in leisure activities such as cinema,
concerts, shopping, sporting events and nightclubs. There
will also be occasional opportunities for residential experiences.
The Buddy Service puts a strong emphasis on the quality
of the service it offers to young people and we are looking
for individuals with the drive and enthusiasm to maintain
our high standards. You will need to be patient, empathetic
and adaptable. You will have a caring nature and the ability
to think on your feet, a good sense of humour is also essential.
Flexible hours are available however the role involves
a balance of weekday, evening and weekend work. There is
also
time available in the school holidays. The work is based
in Guildford, West Surrey and the surrounding area. The pay
range is £8.00 - £9.00 per hour.

Surrey Youth Consortium www.surreyyc.org.uk is a nationally-innovative
and rapidly-developing joint venture company and charity of
(currently) 11 voluntary youth organisations in Surrey, who
work together to improve the range, reach, quality and value
for money of services offered to children, young people and
their families. Our Board of Trustees consists of directors
from member organisations, two young Trustees and an independent
chair. We work on a co-operative basis to get things done and
the quality of our working relationships is important to us.
We shall be delivering a range of new contracts from April
2012. We are therefore now seeking to appoint a half-time manager
to lead the development, implementation and operation of a
performance management framework for contracts and grants.
You will have experience of contract performance management
at an operational and strategic level and of working with statutory
and third sector organisations. You must be able to work independently
on your own initiative, reporting to a Board of Trustees, with
the ability to combine flexibility with determination, strategic
vision with attention to detail.

Walton Charity is seeking a
Community Services Manager to develop and run a new staff team
being created to expand our services to the community. These
will include grants for individuals, welfare and outreach,
allotments, volunteering, events and community projects, a
food bank and community grant awards.
The new appointment, who will be a member of the Charity’s
senior management team, will manage current staff, looking
after grants to individuals, allotments, welfare and outreach,
and will lead on the development and implementation of an expanded
grants programme.
This is an opportunity for a self starter with passion and
energy to work with the Senior Management Team and trustees
to develop a responsive and dynamic range of community services
and programmes.
This is a new post and the successful candidate will have substantial
management experience in a relevant role, a thorough understanding
of voluntary sector organisations as well as the issues related
to relative poverty and social exclusion. They must also have
excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work in a collaborative,
diplomatic way with strong relationship building skills and
be capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy. They
will also need good computer skills and a working knowledge
of various media.
