| The Assembly exists to provide strong representation
for the sector on the Surrey Strategic Partnership. |
|
Surrey Strategic Partnership is the county-wide local strategic
partnership (LSP). It includes the following members:
Surrey County Council
Surrey's eleven districts and boroughs
Surrey Police
Surrey Primary Care Trust
The Voluntary, Community and Faith sector
The Business sector
These organisations work together to try to find solutions to local problems.
They try to support each other and improve the way they work together, to make
life better for people in Surrey.
The Surrey Strategic Partnership which has identified 10 priorities covering
five key themes.
The key themes are:
- Health & Well-being
- Safer Stronger Communities
- Housing, Infrastructure & Environment
- Children & Young People
- Economic Development
These five groups each has a panel who get together to discuss and help shape
priorities to help Surrey achieve these goals. The Voluntary, Community and Faith
Sector have representatives who sit on these panels. There are also representatives
required for the Leadership Group and the Delivery Management Group. The DMG
is open to Chief Officers only.
Elections for these roles will take place in the spring and will be independently
moderated by RAISE (Regional Action and Involvement South East). The Assembly
will then supprt the elected representatives to represent the VCFS on these panels.
This will include feeding back information from these meeetings to the sector
and feeding in the views of the sector to the representatives.
This is a really exciting chance for the sector to have a mandated platform to
ensure that the wealth of experience and the hard work done by the sector in
Surrey is given the respect it deserves at a strategic level.
