Sessional Support Worker/Driver Required
Up to 36 hours per week (Job Share considered)
£8.50 per hour (plus holiday pay) + mileage of 40p per mile

Sight for Surrey is the largest charitable organisation in Surrey working with people who are vision impaired, Deaf, Hard of Hearing or who have combined sight and hearing loss.  The charity has provided support to the blind and partially sighted community since 1922.  It began to deliver services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in February 2016 after securing a contract with Surrey County Council to provide these services.  Our mission is to help anyone whose eyesight or hearing has become a cause for concern to help them lead full and independent lives. We are a countywide charity based in Fetcham, near Leatherhead.

We are looking for a support worker/driver to assist an employee in their job in fundraising, communication and marketing. The person will need to be upbeat, enthusiastic, reliable and patient and have use of their own car and a clean driving licence. A degree of flexibility is also required for the role as well as a passion for working with people.

The successful applicant will understand the importance of data protection and confidentiality, as the role also involves supporting the worker by inputting the information onto the database in the office.

Funding is available for up to 36 hours and although the majority of events will be on a Monday to Friday, they can occasionally be in the evening or at weekends.   Candidates should possess good interpersonal and communication skills including basic IT and preferably hold a current Disclosure and Barring Service check although we can arrange this for you.
