The
Rural Access to Services Programme (RASP) is a new 3 year
funding programme dedicated to Surrey’s rural communities.
RASP is a SEEDA programme, and in Surrey there is a delegated
pot of funding to fund capital projects in rural communities
to improve access to services locally.
Project applications could include developing a private
meeting room in your village hall for your GP or Job Centre
to run outreach sessions; or creating an area within your
village shop to enable internet access; or even a project
to sell stamps and envelopes in the local pub. Successful
project applications will enable the local community to
access additional services locally. A limited amount of
funding will also be available for transport projects to
take communities to services where necessary. Funding available
will be from £5,000 to £20,000 per project.
We would like to encourage applications from:
Village and
Community Shops
Village and Community Halls
Village Pubs
Parish Councils
Rural community groups (e.g. mother and toddler
groups, silver surfer clubs, youth groups, etc)…and anyone else in Surrey’s
rural communities who has a project that could improve access
to services
locally.
