The Surrey Community Building
Grants Scheme
The Surrey Community Buildings Scheme is a partnership scheme
jointly funded by Surrey County Council and the Surrey district/borough
councils (currently Elmbridge BC, Guildford BC, Mole Valley
DC, Reigate & Banstead BC, Runnymede BC, Spelthorne BC,
Tandridge DC, Woking BC) and administered by Surrey Community
Action. The Scheme offers capital grants to village halls,
community
centres and voluntary youth buildings subject to their meeting
certain specified criteria.
Grants from the Scheme may be available towards the following
types of project:- · providing new community buildings · extensions
to existing buildings · provision of disability access
and facilities · major structural work · major
refurbishment to hall, kitchens, toilets etc · unforeseen
urgent repairs such as re-wiring or re-roofing · provision
of car parking · Special consideration will be given
to applications which are made in order to comply with The
Disability Discrimination
Act 2004 (Part 3)
Applications for the next round will be available in April
2011 and applications will have to be submitted by the 31
August 2011 with a decision in March/April 2012. The project
will have to be completed by 31 March 2013.
