Supporting Communities - Community Services Team - Community Led Plans - Community Led Planning Benefits and Support

Community Led Plans are a very useful tool for achieving progress in a community.  
 
Benefits of a Community Led Plan:
• Enable the whole community to have contributed to the process and ‘own’ the results
• Give a better understanding of the issues affecting residents
• Identify needs and opportunities for new projects
• Provide a mandate for the Parish Council actions and help in the decision-making regarding priorities and the use of resources
• Help access funding by providing valid evidence of need and support
• Inform local policy-makers (Parish, Borough, County) and give a local perspective
• Assist in identifying actions that will generate more community spirit
• Build greater community cohesion as it involves more volunteers and the participation of more people in the process of both identifying needs and developing the Plan.
   
   
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
The Rural Community Development worker and Surrey Community Action can help throughout the CLP process:
• Attending parish and village meetings to explain more about CLP and the process
• Guidance through the different stages of a Community Led Plan
• Ideas for consulting and involving your community
• Help in liaising with Local Authorities and other service providers
• Sharing ideas from other plan groups
• Giving funding information and advice
